Privacy notice.

Last updated: 20 July 2026.

This site is run by Explore the Algarve. I try to collect as little personal data as I can get away with. This page explains what I do collect, why, and how to make me stop.

What I collect

  • Email address, if you sign up for the newsletter or a downloadable guide. I use it to send you the thing you asked for and, occasionally, other Algarve articles.
  • Basic analytics: which pages you visit, roughly where you are in the world, and which link you arrived from. I use a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not track you across other sites and does not set advertising cookies.
  • Server logs: your IP address and browser type, kept for up to 30 days, used to detect abuse.

What I do not collect

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking pixels.
  • No selling of any data to anyone, ever.

Affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link and book, the booking partner may set their own cookies on your browser. Those cookies are covered by their privacy policy, not mine. See the affiliate disclosure for the list of partners.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask me to show you what data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email privacy@explorethealgarve.example and I will action the request within 30 days.

Changes

If I change this notice I will update the date at the top. Material changes will also be flagged in the newsletter.
